Sport, Health and Science
Our world-class facilities are constantly used by professional athletes. This includes rugby teams, athletes, tennis players, Formula One drivers and American football stars. You will get to use these state-of-the-art labs and training facilities as part of your degree.
We also offer degrees in sports coaching and physical education. These are often followed by a PGCE for those wanting to teach PE in a school setting.

Education and Teaching
You may choose to study an undergraduate degree and move on to a PGCE teacher training programme after you graduate. We offer PGCE’s at primary teaching level and in a wide range of secondary subjects.
We also offer an undergraduate degree in primary education. This degree includes the award of qualified teacher status (QTS). If you’re currently working in a school you could apply to study our work-based programmes. These school-based degrees can also lead to qualified teacher status.
Humanities, Theology and Ethics
Our English programmes allow you to explore the complexities of the language and the impact of literature. Within our campus is Strawberry Hill House, a Gothic castle, making us well located to explore Gothic literature.
Theology is at the heart of St Mary’s, with Catholic principles underpinning the core values of the University. We offer a range of theological degrees in areas such as bioethics, spirituality and catholic teaching.
Media, Communications and Creative Arts
Drama St Mary’s combines drama school training with the rigour of university study to offer an Acting course like no other. If you prefer being off-stage you could study Technical Theatre. You’ll get to learn the ins and outs of lighting, sound production, and set design. We also offer Master’s degrees specialising in theatre directing, London theatre and playwriting.
You’ll have access to specialist facilities including drama studios, a TV production set, design suites and a fully-equipped theatre.
Social, Political and Behavioural Sciences
Our social science degrees offer you an in-depth insight into your chosen subject, such as education or criminology.
We also offer a range of politics programmes. The politics degrees include international relations, diplomacy, public policy and communications.
