Valley Stream British Academy located in Sapele, Nigeria provides a challenging and personalized education for the city’s international community, following the British curriculum delivered in an international context. Academic Programme

The Foundation Programme developed by Holmes Institute is designed to support students preparing for an honour's degree at EQF Level 6. The programme aims to provide a suitable learning and teaching environment to enable international students to acclimatise to the UK higher education environment.

The programme assessment strategy is designed to ensure that students have an opportunity to demonstrate they have achieved the module learning outcomes and to ensure students have a variety of assessment tasks balanced across the semester.

There are two assessment tasks for each module that contribute to the module grade and combine elements of both formative and summative assessment. English for Academic Purposes is the exception with three assessment tasks designed to test competency in all the areas required. Students who do not satisfy the threshold competence for this module have another attempt in the second semester in addition to the normal resit opportunities.

International Foundation Year

Enrol in one of our Foundation programmes and develop the necessary skills to succeed at University. After successful completion of your Foundation Year, you are guaranteed automatic progression into the 3-year degree programme in your chosen subject pathway, all on a single visa.

International Year One

Our International Year 1 programmes allow you to begin your degree studies in the U.K. with smaller class sizes & personalised attention. This means you build your subject-specific knowledge and the skills required to embark on a degree programme in a personalised environment before progressing onto your specific degree in 2nd & 3rd year.

Pre-Masters

Our Pre-Masters programme is designed for students who do not meet the requirements for direct entry to the Masters programme, but do have previous higher education experience. Students enrolled in our Pre-Masters programme will study 1-2 semesters with UCIC before progressing to their chosen Masters pathway.
